The problem

Students in grades 7 to 9 need regular practice, and it’s the parents who pay: they want a simple way to build that habit, for less than the price of a coffee a month.

What I built

A study platform with a fixed weekly plan. Each day has a theme (numbers, algebra, problems, geometry, statistics), Saturday brings a mini-test on the week’s themes and Sunday a review of the exercises the student got wrong. Before each session there is a lesson with maths formulas, and during the exercises a scratch pad for working things out with a finger or mouse.

Decisions

• Simple, predictable adaptive difficulty. There are five levels: three correct answers in a row move up a level, two wrong ones move down. Students understand the rule and the system needs nothing more complex.
• Free Monday to Friday. The paid plan adds step-by-step solutions, the mini-test and the review: the most valuable parts, without taking the daily habit away from anyone who doesn’t pay.
• AI kept out of the student’s path. Lessons and exercises are prepared in advance. The student portal makes no real-time AI requests, which keeps costs predictable and answers instant.
• Daily worksheet with no sign-up, to try it before creating an account.

Technology

React, TypeScript and Mantine on the frontend, FastAPI on the backend, PostgreSQL and payments with Stripe. It is a PWA that can be installed on a phone.
